Although we will not belabor the details here, the point is nevertheless a crucial one:
That products are being mercilessly hawked to the public, that apparently do not even benefit the so-called inventors, or the people who hawk them. You will not find Tony Little's abs because he doesn't have any. And if he is waiting for his Ab Isolator to provide them, he is out of luck. Of course, he is not waiting for his Ab Isolator to provide them, because he knows very well it cannot, but he will never tell you this.
America, and probably many other countries, are afflicted with a hypocrisy typified by the Tobacco industry, which, with a straight face, and in the face of overwhelmingly objective scientific/medical evidence, DENIES that smoking tobacco is a serious threat to public health and safety. The level of hypocrisy in America is almost beyond redemption. And, until recently, this corporate behavior with its profound social effects has been tolerated. Many would argue that despite the recent court cases, the lobbying of the tobacco industry is still keeping itself quite alive and well.
And so, in this climate of anything-goes-except-a-few-symbolic-no-no's, fitness products are hawked that have perilously little to do with fitness, no matter how they are used. And the major thrust of the HoloBarre is that these products are at the very least unnecessary, because drastically simpler superior systems will accomplish the same ends.
And, just as the Tobacco Industry will not 'fess up to the harm of smoking (unless forced to, of late), purveyors of junk will not admit that their products are useless.
It is thus crucial that consumers vote responsibly with their dollars. Say no to junk, chicanery, silliness, false imagery, and ultimately, bankrupt philosophy. The whole misguided notion of beauty has led to a cosmetic surgery craze that can actually, if taken too far, rob the earth of its human treasure of differences. Susan Powter, of Stop-the-Insanity! fame, who herself has bilked the system out of more than a few dollars, nevertheless managed to hit the nail on the head. We must stop the insanity, shift to a lower gear, emotionally speaking, and start restructuring our values, and start THINKING again.
