Studley Ruritan
Studley Virginia
- Regular meeting on 2nd Monday of each month at Enon Methodist Church
- Board of Directors meet on 1st Monday of each month at Salem Presbyterian Church.
And here's a local landmark...Studley Store and Post Office.
This picture was taken in June 1996 during the "Virginia Dare" bicycle tour run from Innsbrook in Richmond's West End, to Williamsburg, and back. Stop in and see the locals. Remember....."Studley Mall has it all".
Don't miss the opportunity to say "hello" to Kay in the Post Office next door.
- The Ruritan Home Office now has its own e-mail address...ruritan@swva.net. Please distribute the address to other Ruritans you know, and encourage them to submit questions, comments, or even magazine submissions via the internet. Just put the department you want the question/comment forwarded to in the message line of the e-mail.

- Did you know? Studley, Va. is the birthplace of Patrick Henry-author of the Declaration of Independence. Studley, formerly known as "Haw's Shop" was the site of one of the most intense cavalry battles of the Civil War- the "Battle of Haw's Shop". The two local churches named above, played roles in this battle. Salem even had a cannonball imbedded in one of its walls (until, I am told, the church was painted a few years back, and the shell disappeared). Stay tuned for more history of the area.
