Lindy Hop Swing Dancing

    ... in Hampton Roads Virginia

shoes

Ya put your right foot in...

My Richmond friends put their best feet forward at a fine swing soirée in the capitol city. I got my start in swing and lindy up in Richmond and I'm so happy to see it catching on down here in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Newport News etc area. We've had a solid swing scene for some time, but now lindy's catching on as well and there are a lot more dancing opportunities here than there have ever been (even during the swing "boom"). We've got a little hollywood, we've got a little savoy, and today I'm watching Steven Mitchell jazz style tapes so who knows what's next ;)

For DC (ya gotta go at least once, the dancing is amazing!) try:
http://www.jitterbuzz.com/ and
http://www.gottaswing.com/
...both have schedules of happenin' events and lots of good reference material on "lindy hop"

And, oh yeah, if you were wondering about me, Mike, here's a picture of my good side at the Richmond Indigo Swing show... I gotta start taking my own pictures. Also, you can read a brief and slighty outdated autobiographical tidbit here.

...remember, "'tain't whatcha do..." (It's the way that ya do it!)
