Dantao, translated as The Way of Transformation, is a small school started in 1981 by Sat Hon as a vehicle to transmit the wisdom of Taoist Alchemy.  Taiji Quan and Qigong practices are branches from this old alchemical tree of life.

Our school teaches from the Dragon Gate Taoist lineage:

• Wudong Neidan Taiji Quan—a proto-Taiji form derived from the Dragon Taiji style.
• Taiyin Qigong—Woman’s qigong, a gentle movements created by the immortal sisters.
• Alchemical Qigong—cultivation of the internal elixir and to deeply strengthen one’s primal vitality.
• Immune Qigong Therapy—a therapeutic application using Mudra, sound and movement for healing.

Tao (pronounced “dao”) means a road, and is often translated as ‘the Way’.  Tao is emptiness -- spacious creative potential from which all reality emerges.  It is the underlying fabric of reality.  In the Taoist view of cosmogenesis, there existed timeless hundun, primordial chaos.  Then a spark of primal energy, qi, spontaneously ignited thereby splitting the hundun into polarity, yin and yang.  These two complementary forces: feminine and masculine, dark and light, interpenetrate in the creation of matter and energy.
 

• Brief History of the Dragon Gate School of the Complete Reality Taoist sect

The Taoist alchemical search for the elixir of immortality dated back to the dawn of Chinese civilization (3,000b.c.).  However, by the 6th century, a majority of Taoists had turned from the external search of material elixir to the internal state of immortality.  After the fall of the Northern Song dynasty (1126), Wang Chonguang (1113-1170), a former military officer, sickened by the slaughter of war and famine, turned inward to finding liberation and transcendence.  In the year of 1159, he encountered the Taoist immortals, Lu Dongbin and Zhongli Quan, who transmitted the secrets of inner alchemy to him. Wang later established a new Taoist sect, Quanzhen (Complete Reality).  It evolved to become the most popular spiritual renewal in pre-modern China.
The lunmeng, Dragon Gate School from the Complete Reality sect emphasizes physical and internal movement of qi as its central tenet of practice.
