HOUSTON ZYDECO CHURCH DANCES
 Date/Time  Place  Features
Sorry, I never get my copy of the Texas Catholic Herald soon enough to post anything in advance. So, to the right are some churches that have had zydecos in the past. Zydecos are held as benefits for the church so they do not take place every weekend. Good luck!

St. Francis of Assisi, 5102 Dabney St, Houston (672-7773)

St. Anne De Beauupre, 2810 Link Rd, Houston.

St. Gregory the Great, 10500 Nold Dr., Houston

St. Peter Claver, 6005 North Wayside Dr., Houston

Our Mother of Mercy, 2000 Benson St., Houston

Willis, Step, Boozoo, J. Paul, Geno and Tony Delaphose are mainstays at these dances

* Things change... so try to call before heading out. Having said that, don't be bummed if your call goes unanswered, especially at the zydeco clubs and especially during the day. Get a copy of the free Houston weekly entertainment paper (most clubs, bookstores, newsstands, coffee shops). It will list the mixed-music venues (but not the zydeco clubs). Finally, don't overlook the church dances (usually Saturday nights). They are listed in the "Around the Diocese" section of the semi-monthly Texas Catholic Herald (available during buisiness hours at the front desk of the Chancery, 1700 San Jacinto, Houston, TX 77002).
